"Dear Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective, Erica Frumin, and members of the ArtCycle Apprenticeship Program: Thanks to the hard work of teens involved in the ArtCycle Apprenticeship Program and the willingness of the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective to sponsor their program, 28 refugee youth now have bicycles. These bicycles give youth the freedom of getting around more quickly and provide an alternative method of transportation to school.
The International Rescue Committee's Youth Program seeks to build the confidence of young refugees from the ages of 10-14 in social situations. It is our hope that after attending the six week program, that youth will feel more comfortable interacting with their American peers and become more involved at their schools. Without the support of organizations such as the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective, IRC would be unable to provide bicycles to our youth. Thank you for making bicycles and helmets available to our youth at no cost and teaching them the importance of bicycle safety.
Sincerely, Dianne Browning Resource Development Program Specialist Erica Thatcher Youth Program Coordinator"
