Good! Join the fun.
Earn-a-Bike Instructor: Earn-a-Bike is a class we offer to various summer and after school programs. Ten kids per class choose a used bike, strip it down, clean parts, and then rebuild their bike under the supervision of mentors. Mechanics skills are a plus, but patience and a desire to mentor are a must.
Trips for Kids mountain biking: Join in this brand new program to take kids mountain biking. The more volunteers we have to help - the more kids, many who are low income or at-risk, can experience the exhilaration of riding in the mountains.
Valet Bike Parking: Providing free valet parking for community events and every downtown farmer's market is darn fun, and we could use some help throughout the summer to make it happen.
Bicycle Benefits Recruiting: (www.bicyclebenefits.org) Talk to and invite you favorite local business to join the national Bicycle Benefits program where there is friendly parking and some discount or other special to folks that ride their bike to the business.
Mechanic: The Collective is in the process of refurbishing a ton of bikes at 2312 South West Temple and we could use some help. We will train our volunteer mechanics for free. This is a great learning opportunity and could lead to a job in a bike shop.
Project Organizer: Do you want to help bicycling get back into the mainstream? We have a lot of ideas and are always open to new ones. With the partnerships we have right now with local agencies and businesses, and with strong bicycling advocates Ralph Becker and Peter Corroon, now is the time to make it happen.
Fundraiser: The Collective is operating on a very low budget and will need increased funding to start new programs and enhance current operations. You do not need previous experience to start fundraising, but you do need to share our passion for bicycle advocacy.
